The octopus nervous system is very different in size and organization in comparison to that of other molluscs, and it contains more than 6 times the number of neurons in a mouse brain. Coleoid cephalopods like the octopus show extraordinarily sophisticated behaviours including complex problem solving, task-dependent conditional discrimination, observational learning and spectacular displays of camouflage.
