Play Technological advancement on the table facing you until it is discarded. Progress to the next sequencing technology regardless of the number of Species cards of the current sequencing generation in game facing you. For example, if you have 2 first-generation Species cards and you play Technological advancement, you may play second-generation Species cards. If you have 4 first-generation Species cards,you would be at second-generation technology. If you play Technological advancement, you may play third-generation Species cards, but if you lose one first-generation Species card you may only play second-generation Species cards.
